Boston Camera Club Members Show at Wellesley Free Library in January 2015

The Boston Camera Club Members Show will run at the Wellesley Free Library from January 3 - 30, 2015, with a reception scheduled for Thursday, January 15, from 630 - 830 pm in the Wakelin Room.  The Wellesley Free Library is located at 530 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02482; their hours are Monday – Thursday from 9 am – 9 pm; Friday from 9 am - 6 pm; Saturday from 9 am – 5 pm; and Sunday 1 - 5 pm.

The exhibition will feature 50 photographs from 25 members of the club in two subjects - “Abstract Art” and “Nature and Wildlife”.  The images that will be exhibited are posted in an online gallery at https://picasaweb.google.com/108547511534912821809/2014WellesleyLibrary?authkey=Gv1sRgCMj_8eiGr9XGAw&feat=directlink#.

Founded in 1881, the Boston Camera Club is one of the oldest camera clubs in the country, and is dedicated to the advancement of photography as an art and a science. The club currently has over 150 members, ranging in experience from novice to professional, from approximately 40 different communities.  Meetings are held weekly at All Saints Parish Church on Beacon Street in Brookline, MA and include photo competitions, critiques, educational lectures, and studio portrait sessions.  Additionally the Club sponsors field trips to local points of interest and special events and workshops led by well-known photographers.
