NECCC Spring 2014 Electronic Interclub Competition

The NECCC Spring 2014 competition was hosted by Boston West Photographic Society, and was held on April 16th, 2014 at St. Andrew’s Church, 3 Maple Street, Framingham, MA. The competition was directed by Michael Roman, Competition Chairman of Boston West PS. Assisting with the planning and execution of the event were Jim Brady, Ed McGuirk, Jeff Slovin, Deb Guyer and Tom Manders of Boston West.

Forty-two clubs participated in the Pictorial section (17 from Class A and 25 from Class B) and Thirty-nine clubs participated in the Nature section (15 from Class A and 24 from Class B).
The competition was judged by:

 Ian Dicker: Ian is a past member of Gateway CC and Boston West PS. He is an accomplished
nature photographer and has led numerous photography workshops, including for The Great
American Photography Weekend.
 Jim DeLuco: Jim is a professional portrait/wedding/event photographer and, for many years, a
past member of Colonial CC. He is also a speaker at clubs on portrait photography and studio
and off-camera lighting.
 Bill Smith: Bill grew up in his dad’s photography business and is a graduate of Rhode Island
School of Photography. He is the director of Sales & Marketing at ICL Imaging in Framingham,
MA.

The two 1st place clubs in Class B will now move up to Class A starting in the 2014-2015 season.
Therefore, the Boston Camera Club will now compete in both Pictorial Class A as well as in Nature Class A.

The winning images (1st, 2nd and 3rd places) from the three competitions will be sent to a judge outside of New England who will pick the Pictorial Class A, Pictorial Class B, Nature Class A, and Nature Class B photographs of the year. Winners need not re-submit images as the competition chairmen have the images and will arrange the judging. The results will be announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday morning at the annual NECCC Conference in Amherst. The club awards will also be presented at the same time. We hope to see all of you there. Congratulations to all the winners.

Next Competition Season (2014-2015)

Thanks are extended to all those entrants, judges, clubs, etc that made this competition season a success. The success of the competitions is not possible without all of you. Clubs have already volunteered to host the next season's competition. The following clubs will host the 2014-2015 electronic interclub competition:
