Canadian Association of Photographic Art Atlantic Camera Conference

Remember all prices are in Canadian dollars.  When Canadian dollars are converted to US dollars there is about a 25% discount.  This is a great chance to attend a great conference and then travel around Nova Scotia or New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island for a charming and photographic vacation.

News items from Quechee Area Camera Club

WORKSHOP WITH KURT BUDLIGER AND LISA LACASSE
Spring in Vermont, May 27-29, 2016 - email Kurt ASAP if you are interested in attending (see website link below)
Spring in Vermont is one of the most magical times to be outdoors exploring the landscape with a camera. The streams are full, leaves bursting with near fluorescent greens and a variety of spring wildflowers blanket the forest floor. During this intensive weekend photography workshop we'll explore and photograph some of the most stunning Vermont landscapes as they burst with spring color.
Workshops are fun...and a fabulous way to take your photography to the next level - learn so many things - ask any question you may have.   Learn to use your wide angle lens, learn how to shoot moving water/waterfalls - slow water, learn how to compose landscapes and intimate landscapes - shoot 2 sunsets and 2 sunrises with time in between to shoot as well - plenty of time to learn what you want to know to take your photography to the next level.
When: May 27-29, 2016  Where: Montpelier Vermont area     Price: $595
Additional Info - More workshop info
The workshop will kick off on Friday afternoon, May 27, 2016 at 3:30 PM at the Comfort Inn & Suites at Maplewood in Montpelier, VT with a short reception, introductions and slideshow.  We'll spend the next two days out photographing the beautiful Vermont landscape.  We will also spend some time indoors learning about post processing workflow and techniques, as well as time for image critique.  We'll end the workshop in the late afternoon on Sunday May 29, with plenty of time to get on the road home.
Key Features:
Gain a strong technical foundation in outdoor photography.
Learn the importance of “seeing the light”
Learn how to use filters
Composition and Design
Advanced field techniques
Photograph intimate ponds, woodlands and streams as they burst with spring green
Photograph sunrise and sunsets from rolling mountains and along country roads and farmland
Bring your images to life using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
Physical Difficulty:There will be no strenuous hiking involved during the workshop and most locations will be close to the road.  Some locations, however may involve a short hike of less than a mile with no serious elevation gains.  We will be spending a lot of time shooting along streams and waterfalls that will require scrambling over rocks and down hillsides.  The terrain in the mountains can be very uneven and sometimes slippery along streams and rivers.  Hiking boots and a modest level of health and fitness will greatly enhance your experience.
Accommodations:
Participants are responsible for their own lodging, transportation and meals.  Carpooling is encouraged during the workshop to minimize our footprint as well as foster camaraderie.  A block of rooms has been reserved at the Comfort Inn & Suites at Maplewood 213 Paine Turnpike N., Montpelier, VT, US, 05602 Phone: (802) 229-2222.
Booking:(on Kurts website)
A deposit of 200.00 USD is required to secure a space on this workshop.  Final payment is due 60 days prior to the start of this workshop.  There is no refund after the final payment has been made (unless we can fill your spot).  Please see our cancellation policy for more detailed information.

Lupines at Sugar Hill, NH
This Photo Op is open for the month of June - the lupines bloom all month .
On June 11 & 12 is the Annual Open Air Market - so if you want to do some photography and be a part of the festival events as well this is the weekend to go.  The facebook link below posts photos and pics so you can see when they are blooming .
This is the start of the month long Lupine Festival.  The Annual Open Air Market  is on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Lupine Festival goes the entire month of June - fields and fields of lupines make for great photo opportunities - anything in blue is a link to a website where you can gather more information - if you want to go on your own,  just keep checking their facebook page - Facebook Page Lupine Festival
Fro $5 you can pick up a booklet of the where to take photos  - pick it up at Harman's Cheese and Country Store or at Polly's Pancake House.
TICKS - in past years the ticks have been awful so be sure to wear plenty of protective clothing and check yourself carefully.  If you choose to use a bug spray with DEET be careful - it will eat the plastic off your camera so wash your hands well before picking up your camera
there are several places to take photos from - I have listed Polly's Pancake Parlor as one location and you can also go Harman's Cheese & Country Store Link - great photo ops and a fun place to visit -  The lupines below the church are great too -
You can google where to take photos and can find some great spots with foregrounds and vistas and plenty of lupines to add color to your scene.
Polly's Pancake House link  is THE place to have breakfast - incredible views and fabulous food!  It's an experience and plenty of lupines to take photos of and they are just finishing renovating their building.
Fields Of Lupines Photo Contest - consider submitting your best image to the contest
Be careful and respectful of where you walk and set up your tripods so that the lupines will be there for others to enjoy
