Balloons are coming to the 66th Annual Conference of the New England Camera Club Council to be held on July 15, 16, and 17, 2011! This year the Fine Arts Auditorium is not available due to renovations. Instead, on Saturday evening, there will be a balloon inflation and tethered glow followed by an ice cream social. The balloons will be provided by the Connecticut Lighter Than Air Society to provide an exciting photo opportunity for those attending the conference. The balloons will return on Sunday morning at sunrise when they will inflate again and, depending on wind conditions, will either launch or remain tethered for more photo opportunities. What an exciting opportunity.
Go to our web site at http://www.neccc.org/New_Outline_13.htm for more information on the conference and to register if you have not already done so.

Photographic Trade Show at the Summer Conference
One of the highlights at the annual NECCC Summer Conference is the Photographic Trade Show that takes place on the lower level of the Campus Center. Do you need a new camera, accessories, a gadget bag, a workshop, a photo tour, monitor calibration hardware, or a photoshop plug-in? If so, you will find these items and so much more here.
One especially popular part of the Trade Show is the ability to borrow cameras and lenses to try out before you buy. Nikon and Canon will have their top of the line equipment for attendees to borrow by the hour for use on Friday and Saturday. Each attendee will be allowed to borrow the equipment for 90 minutes at a time. You must have your own memory card and present a valid driver's license and major credit card for identification and copying. Tamron will have lenses available from their booth for use throughout the conference. Sigma will have a limited number of macro lenses available for use with speaker David FitzSimmons macro nature photo set-up in the Photo-Ops room.
