This has led him to photograph subjects and places as disparate as harbors, wildflower meadows, large mammals, small birds, forests, quaint villages, indigenous markets and people and mountain streams. David has produced 10 books including: Ancient Forests, The New Key to Ecuador and the Galapagos, Prayers through the Seasons, American Vision, The Nature of America, the largest nature photography book project ever undertaken, which he created, co-directed, contributed photographs to and wrote. presentation by Paul Nguyen, a Fine Art Nature and Landscape Photographer from Hanson, MA
Connecticut Valley Camera Club Meeting
Monday, March 6, 2017 at 7:00pm
The March 6th meeting of the CT Valley Camera Club (CVCC) will feature a presentation by Paul Nguyen, a Fine Art Nature and Landscape Photographer from Hanson, MA. The meeting will be held at the Old Lyme Senior Center, 26 Town Woods Rd., Old Lyme, CT
This is how the photographer describes his presentation: "When the sun goes down, skilled photographers know the fun is just beginning. Long exposures in low light conditions reveal a whole new world of color, texture, and artistry previously hidden to the naked eye, and advances in sensor technology are making it easier to make great night images with every generation of camera. Join New England-based professional photographer Paul Nguyen to learn about the principles and camera settings behind several kinds of low light photography: Long exposures of landscapes at twilight; night images of the starry sky; and “star trail” exposures."
To see more of Paul’s work, please visit his website at: www.paulnguyenphoto.com
A few examples of his photography are shown below
The Connecticut Valley Camera Club is dedicated to offering its membership the opportunity to become better photographers. We offer a variety of presentations and interactive workshops to help our members expand their technical and creative skills. We welcome photographers of all levels of experience. The club draws members up and down the river, from Middletown to Old Saybrook; from East Hampton to Old Lyme; and along the shoreline from Guilford to Gales Ferry.
CVCC meeting dates, speakers / topics and other notices are published on the club's Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/CTValleyCameraClubPage/.

Upcoming Boudoir Class at Hunt's Photo
On March 4th, Hunt's Photo, Melrose will be holding a boudoir class lecture, which is really a fantastic opportunity. Dani Klein-Williams from dani fine photography in Northampton will be here to discuss both the art of boudoir and the business of boudoir photography. This class is meant for photographers that are looking to break into boudoir or photographers who are looking to find new ways to make money with their photography.
The first two hours will be a discussion with the photographer, Dani, a model that regularly works with her studio, and one of her makeup artists. They will be discussing how to set up shots, how to make models look as appealing as possible, and how to be respectful, but spirited in these situations. The second half of the talk discusses the business of boudoir and how to "fill in the blanks" in your professional photography schedule.
It's important to note that this is a lecture-class and not a boudoir session. However, this is part of the allure of this event, as it's a chance to ask very poignant questions, not only of the photographer, but also of the model and make-up artist. (I probably will never photograph boudoir, but I'm fascinated to learn more about the process!) It also helps that Dani is a very dynamic personality!
Our signup page is here: http://wbhunt.com/blog/art-business-of-boudoir/
Camera club members can receive $25 off the full event by using the promo code "25off"

This is to advise you that the East Windsor Veterans Commission "America the Beautiful" photo contest that you entered has been extended until April 30, 2017. We needed a minimum of 85 entries to break even and are currently at 60 entries. The Commission decided to extend the deadline rather than cancel the contest. We are confident that we will receive the needed number of entries by the end of April. In any case, the prizes will be awarded. We will announce the winners at Town's Memorial Day celebration in May. We will notify the winners at that time. A new entry form and revised rules with the new deadline are available on the East Windsor Veterans Commission Facebook page.
We want to thank you for your patience, your beautiful photos and most of all your support! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at my email address.

America the Beautiful photo contest
Thanks for running information regarding the America the Beautiful photo contest that is sponsored by the East Windsor Veterans Commission (on Facebook). Our original deadline of January 31, 2017 has been extended until April 30, 2017. We needed to receive 85 entries in order to break even. Although we didn't reach our goal, the group decided to extend the contest. They feel confident that we will get there by the end of April. They will award the prizes of $500, $250 and $100 even if we don't hit 85 entries. The prize winners will be announced at the Town's Memorial Day celebration. Amateur photographers can submit a photo showing what they feel makes America beautiful. The photos do not need to be patriotic. The entry fee is $10 and the proceeds will help our local veterans erect monuments on the Town green to honor veterans who have served in all conflicts including the current one. To receive more information go to the East Windsor Veterans Commission Facebook page. A new entry form and the revised rules reflecting the new date can be viewed and downloaded or you can email me at pamela.putinas@att.net. My husband Bruce is a member of the Commission. We appreciate all the support we have received thus far. Thanks!
