CREATE YOUR OWN PHOTOGRAPHY OASIS
http://necccphotoconference.org/create-your-own-photography-oasis/
The Certified Backyard Wildlife Habitat is a program that encourages people to manage their gardens & yards as a wildlife garden. Through planting native plants and providing food, water, and shelter for wildlife, you can provide critical wildlife habitat and create a safe-haven for wildlife. This is a win-win for photographers as you do not have to travel to get nature photos!

David has been a photographer since 1972 when his father presented him with his first camera, but his career in photography started in 1992. David learned his craft originally as a painter and from his father who shares his love of nature and photography. Early in his career he traveled with, learned from and taught beside some of the masters of nature photography including John Shaw, Art Wolfe, Galen Rowell, Bryan Peterson, Pat O’Hara, and Rod Planck. David has been teaching photography since 1994 in the classroom and leading workshops around the United States. David presents and leads workshops at many of the country’s top photographic conferences such as the Photographic Society of America Annual Conference, as well as many camera clubs across the USA.

Check out NECCC 2019 speaker Jamie Konarski Davidson

Check out NECCC 2019 speaker Jamie Konarski Davidson
http://necccphotoconference.org/jamie-konarski-davidson/

Jamie is teaching programs, leading a hand-on pre-conference workshop, and co-leading a Sunday am photowalk.

Jamie made a dazzling video showing her inspiring photographs. Attend her program, register for her hands-on workshop and join her on her photowalk. Her post-processing class has a wonderful philosophy "Remember, this is about vision, not reconstructive surgery". To take your images beyond the frame, you need to embrace “what if” and let go of the voices that tell you you’re “cheating.”

Take the plunge and sign up for her pre-conference workshop -- and learn how to move your images into another zone – the one that embraces and reflects your personal vision.

EMBRACING ‘WHAT IF’ FOR CREATIVE POST-PROCESSING
What: Three hour hands-on pre-conference workshop.
When Fri 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Bring Laptop with Photoshop CC and Topaz Labs Studio (Impression, Texture Effects & Black/White Effects)
Skill level:  Intermediate Photoshop knowledge, including layers
Speaker Jamie Konarski Davidson
Cost $70, after Jun 21 $90 register http://necccphotoconference.org/necccregister/

You’ve done the work in the field and have gathered some images to process. Hopefully, you’re looking at images that already reflect what you saw, why you stopped and perhaps, even how you felt in the moment. Now what?
Sometimes, the answer is simple refinements such as adding contrast, vibrance, or adjusting clarity. Easy. How do you take it a step further? Remember, this is about vision, not reconstructive surgery. What about the images and subjects that have something more to say – about themselves and about you? These are the images that call out the inner artist – the ones you envision looking and feeling differently. These are the ones that take you “beyond the frame” and make you use the creative tools we have so they reflect how you see the world, your personal style and your connections to the subjects.
During this session, Jamie will share how she approaches post-processing to create images that speak to her artistic vision. She will walk through several images and the choices made in post using Adobe Photoshop, Topaz Studio (including Impression, Texture Effects and B&W Effects). She will also share on image blending, masking and textures.
To take your images beyond the frame, you need to embrace “what if” and let go of the voices that tell you you’re “cheating.” Take the plunge and learn how to move your images into another zone – the one that embraces and reflects your personal vision. Jamie will provide sample images. You will watch her and then do the same techniques to create your own interpretations for this hands-on workshop.

Prerequisites: You should have Adobe Photoshop (preferably PS CC), Topaz Labs Studio (Impression, Texture Effects & Black/White Effects) installed and running on your laptop and know how to open/save files. This class will assume that you have some basic knowledge of Photoshop and layers – and therefore will focus on intermediate editing techniques to create more unique looks and effects. You may choose to share a computer and look on with a friend — or just come and take notes if you learn better without your computer.
Program: open to all

INTERPRETIVE ARTISTIC TECHNIQUES IN-CAMERA
http://necccphotoconference.org/interpretive-artistic-techniques-in-camera/
For the artist at heart – Jamie will share creative ways to interpret subjects in-camera that go beyond what the subject is and reflect how a subject makes one feel. Learn about simple techniques and tools that will help you add emotional impact to your images such as motion blurs, multiple exposures, Lensbaby, infrared and more.

INFRARED PHOTO WALK WITH JAMIE KONARSKI DAVIDSON & MARK HILLIARD
When Sun 7:00 am – 8:00 am
Bring  Camera converted to INFRARED or camera with INFRARED filter, or email leaders and arrange a loaner of an INFRARED  filter.
Type Photo Walk – PW3
Skill All
Speaker  Jamie Konarski Davidson & Mark Hilliard
The theme of this Photo Walk is infrared photography.

Jamie is an award-winning outdoor & nature photographer with a passion for capturing and sharing intimate details of nature and landscapes. She embraces creative techniques and simple beauty. Her process emphasizes connecting with and presenting subjects that convey her vision. Her creative tools include color, infrared and black/white, macro/close-up, abstracts, HDR, long exposure, Lensbaby and all the tools of the digital darkroom. Jamie is a former board member of the North American Nature Photography Association and member of Carolinas Nature Photographers Association. some testimonials from last year...

I could not have asked for a more cultural documentary photographer "rock star" than Ira Block. Not only is he a phenomenal photographer but a thoughtful teacher. Not all great shooters can instruct well. He is firm in his criticism while being cognizant of the student's emotional investment in the work. Having a photo walk with the same reviewer was a terrific added bonus because I could ask process questions in the field. (This was a bargain) as a 70-minute review with Ira is normally $250.00, so I truly appreciate his time and commitment to NECCC attendees.

I am a beginner--have owned a camera for less than a year--and certainly don't have what I would call a "portfolio."  But I signed up for the review anyway.  Put some images on a USB. He made very useful suggestions and showed me how a couple of photos could be improved just by judicious cropping.  You don't have to be an experienced photographer, or have competition level photos to benefit from the image critique.  It was a very useful way to start the conference, I thought.

My critique was wonderful She took her time to give me both positive feedback and some suggestions that would improve my images It certainly was a highlight of my conference experience Sarah puts you at ease immediately and builds your confidence with her positive feedback 😃 I would definitely sign up for the pre conference critique the next time I attend.

Jim was recently voted 'Rochester's Best Photographer' in City Newspaper's annual reader's poll for the 4th year in a row. As the son of legendary Kodak photographer Neil Montanus, he has been around photography his entire life. But it wasn't until his college years that he became intensely interested in photography as a journalism major. Of course, it would be impossible for Jim to share his story without talking about how his father Neil Montanus influenced his life and his photography. As a Kodak Photographer, Neil traveled the globe, photographing the world's most beautiful and exotic locations and some of its most famous people - and from a very young age, Jim often tagged along. Jim started his career as a journalist, but that quickly evolved into photography when he accepted the position of staff Photographer, University of Rochester. Then Jim reinvented himself as a corporate marketing manager. Although he has specialized in portraiture and commercial photography, he now spends much of his time on landscape, fine art photography and teaching classes and workshops. www.montanusphotography.com Sponsored by Nikon
