NECCC Electronic Interclub Images of Year
Hi All,
The 2015-16 season of NECCC's Electronic Interclub Competitions has been completed. The final competition of the season was at the end of April. As noted in the final report, the year-end standings are as follows:
First Place Nature A Gateway Camera Club
First Place Nature B Camera Club of Oxford Greens
First Place Pictorial A Greater Lynn Photographic Association
First Place Pictorial B Simsbury Camera Club AND Camera Club of Oxford Greens
After the last competition, all 1st, 2nd and 3rd place images from the entire season were sent to an outside judge. Joanne Stolte of Southern California agreed to judge for us. Her job was to select an "image of the year" from each of the four classes. Her job was a very tough one, but has been completed. The images of the year are as follows (see below for your review). They will also be posted shortly onto the NECCC website.
Image of the Year Nature A "Stopping for Nourishment," Deb Page of the Photographic Society of Rhode Island
Image of the Year Nature B "Successful Hunt," Sal DeFini of the Camera Club of Oxford Greens
Image of the Year Pictorial A "What A Beauty," Joan Balen of the New Haven Camera Club
Image of the Year Pictorial B "Flowers In Her Hair," Susan Poirier of Simsbury Camera Club
All of these awards will be bestowed at the upcoming NECCC Conference. This will be at the awards presentation on Sunday morning (final time and location yet to be announced). Please have a representative of your club in attendance to pick up your award(s). And, more importantly, attend the presentation to receive your well-deserved accolades.
Thank you for a very successful season,
Cindy Gosselin

To read an article, simply click anywhere within the box displaying the article and it will appear in a separate window or download as a PDF depending on how your computer is configured. Articles are arranged in descending order by publication date.
We welcome articles on photography. If you know a subject well, please write it up, preferably as a Microsoft Word file, and send it to Paul Smith, our new Editor of Online Content at bulletin@neccc.org. Course #CT02 Lisa Cuchara
Editing isn't just a few key-clicks and retouches. To do it well takes skill, talent, and knowledge so that your photos look natural and real. In this class, you'll combine creativity with technical expertise as you learn to edit your images. Explore layers and masks. Discover how applying textures can enhance your images. Delve into blend modes, as well as artistic uses for soft light, multiply, lighten and screen modes. Best of all, this class is hands-on! Bring your camera to shoot some images (textures) in the morning. Then, you'll hear Lisa Cuchara's engaging presentation on how to edit, and then you'll start doing it yourself! Please bring a few images of your own so you can continue practicing in the afternoon. Take your creativity and skills to the next level – your clients will love you for it!
