Cape Cod Viewfinders Camera Club Annual Juried Photography Contest
David Jordan, President Emeritus of the Cape Cod Viewfinders Camera Club, has announced the Club's 19th Annual Juried Photography Contest. Open to all except members of the Viewfinders Club, the contest offers a first prize of $175, a second prize of $100, a third prize of $50, and a number of honorable mention ribbons.
Prints will be accepted at the Chatham Creative Arts Center on Sunday January 31st from 1PM to 4PM, Accepted entries will be hung in the Center from February 7th through February 26th, 2016. Awards will be announced at the opening reception on February 7, 3-5 pm.
Jordan has been instrumental in the development and continuation of the annual contest, first organized in 1997. The purpose was to promote the art of photography in the Cape community by providing an opportunity for photographers to display their accepted work in the prestigious Chatham Creative Arts Center galleries. The annual contest now regularly attracts upwards of 150 entries. In Jordan's words, " It has been rewarding to see the art of photography continuing to grow, along with the development of Cape photographers' technical skills and artistic visions. There is a lot of photographic talent on the Cape."
There is an entry fee of $10 per piece and individuals may enter up to three prints which may be Black & White or Color. There is one open category with no specified theme.
