Join us on Monday, April 11 for "Everyday Montages" presented by Paul Peterson

The program is free and open to the public. The NEW HAVEN CAMERA CLUB meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:30 pm Sept-May at the Whitney Center, Cultural Arts Center, 200 Leeder Hill Drive, Hamden. For more information contact Paul Peterson pmjpeterson@sbcglobal.net

Many images can be enhanced by combining photographs to create montages. The title "Everyday Montages" refers to the fact that Paul Peterson likes to combine images or parts of images in such a way that they don't appear to be montages. The title also refers to the fact that Paul uses this technique so often that he now creates these images virtually every day, having a lot of fun in the process. He will replace skies, move buildings, and add or remove people and other elements.

Paul Peterson has been a member of the New Haven Camera Club since 1980. Over the years, he has given a number of programs to the club. He likes to make his programs straightforward and understandable, so that even our less experienced members can get a lot out of them.

Please note that this program is not really about adding textures. While Paul is experimenting with the use of textures, most of  the images in this program don't use textures. The technique of  photo montage is used to enhance existing images or create new images which appear natural. Combining images is a very creative process and the results can be impressive.
