Posing tips for your family portrait someone sent this to me in an email so I have no photo credits, but too funny not to share ...

Place taller family members in the back; shorter ones in front

Encourage family members to touch, showing a loving connection

Parents should always coordinate clothing

Best described as a Photographic Artist, Ed’s passion, enthusiasm and love for photography is beautifully reflected in his creative, storytelling portraits. Dating back to the age of twelve, when he received his first camera as a gift from his parents, photography has been his passion. In 1992, following a twenty-five year career with the US Government, Ed took a leap of faith and followed his dream of pursuing a career in photography. Happily, he never looked back. Several years in to his career, he discovered his true love was photographing family and children and this became his photographic specialty.
Through Ed’s extreme commitment and dedication to his craft, he has earned a reputation as one of New England’s premiere family portrait photographers. His calm nature and friendly, outgoing personality is embraced by children and adults alike who feel naturally relaxed in his presence. His playful, childlike nature and his patience in working with children, enables him to create images that evoke real life emotion and capture true feelings.
In 2005, following a 30 year insurance career; Linda joined the studio full time. Her primary role includes the marketing, bookkeeping and general PR for the business but she is also an invaluable assistant to Ed during their portrait sessions.
Together they take great pride in creating a friendly, stress free atmosphere, providing superior customer service and capturing exceptional portraits of the many special moments in a family’s life. Their goal is simple and heartfelt…To build a long and trusted relationship with your family and to create portrait memories that will be treasured today and passed down to future generations to come. True personal ‘Works of Art’, far more precious and valuable than any possession one can own.

Studio

The studio is located in a quaint-residential area of North Andover, MA. It was designed to convey a family type atmosphere and provide children with an immediate sense of comfort and security. The Indoor studio offers endless portrait opportunities and is very popular for expectant mothers, newborns, toddlers, first communion and high school seniors.
One of the studio’s most appealing attractions is its beautifully landscaped outdoor studio areas. Featuring a variety of environmental settings including; a gazebo, tree lined pathways, old fashioned stonewalls, colorful foliage and ever changing flower gardens. In 2007, a water pond was added and has become a popular setting for themed children’s portraits as well as family portraits.

Awards

Ed’s portraits have received many photographic excellence honors including Courts of Honor, Judges Choice for best print in show, FUJI Masterpiece, and Kodak Gallery Awards. His work has been exhibited at Disney Worlds Epcot Center in Orlando, FL and published in PPA’s annual Loan Collection book. Ed is committed to his craft and dedicated to his profession.
